The Bats
All of our bats are handmade, one at a time. Our materials are sourced through an Ontario supplier and the trees they come from grow in Ontario, Quebec, and the north-eastern United States. Each bat is turned on a 50 year old Rockwell lathe before being hand finished and carefully packaged for shipping. While we work predominantly in maple and ash, we can also produce bats in yellow birch and hickory.
The Parks Series
Each model in the Parks Series is inspired by a city park where people come together and play baseball. We carefully research the park's history, it's uses and traditions when coming up with our designs. For the Bellwoods, we took inspiration from the stone and iron gates of Trinity College, formerly located on the park grounds. For the Christie Pitts, we borrow the colour scheme of the Lizzies baseball team, which has been playing in Christie Pitts and the nearby Bickford park for over 100 years. Stay tuned for news about our next Park model, and be in touch if you think your favourite park should be
The Artist Series
Twice a year GCBC organizes and hosts gallery events that highlight the talents of other artists and craftspeople in the community. We give each artist a bare GCBC bat and let them run wild. We also approach local artists and craftspeople to produce pieces inspired by baseball and its traditions. Those pieces that don't sell at our shows are often available for purchase online.
Custom Bats
GCBC also works directly with our customers to design custom bats for. We really enjoy the challenge of creating a new design that speaks directly to a client. Contact us for more details.
Other Products
Here at Garrison Creek Bat Co. we celebrate the handmade. We partner with local craftspeople whose work inspires us.
